Estee Fratzke graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Dance Science and a MA in Dance from California State University, Long Beach. She has a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education and a Career Technical Education Credential in Arts, Media, and Entertainment. Prior to studying dance in higher education, she trained for ten years on a competitive team at a private studio called Dancer’s Edge, located in her hometown of Visalia, CA. Her experience in a private studio coupled with her studies at CSULB led to her interest in a career as a dance educator, choreographer, and arts advocate.
From 2010-2014, Estee was the Director of the Burbank High School Dance Program, and currently, serves as the Director of the Laguna Beach High School Dance Program. Her mission is to use dance as an avenue to heal and inspire people, with an emphasis on helping her students develop into self-confident, happy, and healthy individuals. She's trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern/lyrical, improvisation, dance composition, and Pilates. A fundamental principle of Estee's teaching philosophy is instilling a sense of lifelong fitness and dance appreciation in her students by teaching them how to move their bodies safely and efficiently.
She choreographs for all levels of the LBHS Dance Program and produces two dance concerts each year. Administering a comprehensive curriculum that encourages versatility and adaptability in her dancers is a high priority for Estee, and she's committed to making waves in the dance community by pushing her students to think critically and creatively on a daily basis. In her personal time, she loves reading, cooking, blogging, traveling, exercising, and spending time with her husband and their three dogs.
